On Saturday, 1 October Jackson County ARES and other volunteer emergency communications groups will be participating in the Metropolitan Emergency Communications Committee Simulated Emergency Test (MECC SET). Part of that exercise will involve a demonstration of capability and completion of tasks using digital messaging over ham radio.

The Fldigi computer application for this part of the exercise is going to be used by other groups and its use by all groups is highly encouraged.

To support the above, John, NØRES, has made arrangements with the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District to host the training in CJCFPD’s training facility at 4715 W 40 Highway, Blue Springs, MO.

It is 1 mile west of Woods Chapel Road and 2 miles east of I-470 (291 highway).
